Three teenagers were injured after they were attacked during a funeral wake, witnesses said.
Police responded to the scene near St Mary’s Church Hall on Hampstead Road in Handsworth, Birmingham, shortly after 6pm on Friday.
One victim, aged 19, was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for further treatment.
Two other men, also aged 19, presented separately at the hospital for treatment.
Police say none of the injuries are life-threatening.
A couple who did not want to be named said the trio were at a funeral before the attack.
The couple said: “It’s horrific that this happened during what was supposed to be the time to put someone to rest.”
Officers remain on the scene and motorists have been warned to avoid the area.
The force said in a statement: “We are investigating the aftermath of the shooting in Hamstead Road, Lozells, just after 6pm today (Friday). Officers were in attendance and a 19-year-old man was attended to by paramedics before being taken to the hospital.
Two other men, both also 19, later attended the hospital separately with gunshot wounds. Neither man is believed to be in a life-threatening condition.
