West Brom striker Karlan Grant is listed as an injury doubt for Middlesbrough’s visit on Saturday as Carlos Corberan confirmed midfielder Tom Rogic is not yet ready to return from his hamstring problem.
Grant has not started a match with Corberan in the Championship since early November, in his second match in charge; on that occasion, he limped off in the second half of a narrow win over Blackpool with an injury problem that would significantly affect disrupting his campaign.
Last season’s top scorer almost left the club in the January transfer window, but ultimately stayed on after the pieces of Albion’s deadline day business didn’t quite fit together as he would have wished. It’s only been one cup for Grant, but he hasn’t been able to fully train this week and

“The players are going to be the same group of players: they are available and any of them could continue with us,” Corberan said. “We haven’t recovered any of the players yet, for example Rogic, who is the closest to recovery, was unable to train with the team. The same players are available and ready for the selection I have to make.”
Rogic hasn’t even been in the squad on match day since the FA Cup knockout at Bristol City almost a month ago; he missed the meetings with Coventry City and Birmingham City based solely on the competition for places, but since then, the draw with Blackburn and the loss at Watford, he has been looking to recover from a hamstring problem.
“He’s not ready to fully train with us yet,” Corberan explained. “At first it seemed that it wasn’t even an injury, it was more of a fatigue, but as the weeks went by, the fatigue is still there and the muscle is still tense. That’s why he couldn’t do any training. but with the group”.
Meanwhile, it still looks like the other side of the international break for Alex Palmer and Kyle Bartley; both players are expected to be ready to take part in the Albion matchup once April rolls around.
“If we count the weeks with the first diagnosis that we had, they should be ready to get involved at this time, around the international break that we are going to have,” added Corberan. “The weeks before we will receive the information on whether they could be ready.
“After this, of course, things can change for one or the other. Until now we continue with the same days and the same information, so let’s keep waiting for the day when they can return to the group during this period of time.
