      Bristol City news and transfer roundup: Sykes banned, six sign contracts

      Hello and welcome to Friday’s live blog as we head into a barren weekend of no Championship football (boo) but there are some members of the Bristol City squad in action for their respective international teams.


      Andi Weimann should feature for Austria tonight when they take on Azerbaijan in a Euro 2024 qualifier (start: 7:45pm), while Alex Scott and Nahki Wells should play tomorrow for England Under-20s and Bermuda respectively.

      We will bring you all the news related to the Robins throughout the day and anything else of interest from the Championship, so stay tuned for updates below

      First professional contracts

      A special day for six youngsters who have signed their first professional contracts with Bristol City.

      Tinn’s debut

      Thirty years ago today, Brian Tinnion made his City debut. Unfortunately, he was on the losing end when the Robins were beaten 2-1 by Swindon Town at The County Ground. Leroy Rosenior scored the goal for Citu in the First Division clash.

      You can have a say in who wins Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Champagne Moment and Supporter of the Year for the men’s and women’s team.

      Winners will be named at the club’s end of season dinner on May 4 at Ashton Gate.
