Erling Haaland’s goal against Bournemouth saw him break Sergio Agureo’s record for the most Premier League goals by a Manchester City player in a single season.

The Norwegian striker scored the second of his team’s match, which they won 4-1 to keep up the chase with title rivals Arsenal.

Haaland found the back of the net for City again

He remains the top scorer in the Premier League so far this season.

Haaland’s goal was his 27th league goal for the campaign in just 24 appearances.

The honor was previously held by City legend Sergio Agüero, who scored 26 times in the 2014/15 season.

However, Haaland has now surpassed that tally with 13 games to play until the end of the campaign.

His goal was also his 33rd in all competitions as he continues to shine since his summer transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

Although Haaland continues to set the Premier League on fire, Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is proving just as ruthless.

The 25-year-old has had the most direct involvement in top flight goals since the World Cup with 11.

Haaland is falling behind by ten, although his form has not been as good as Rashford’s in recent weeks.

However, he has once again proven crucial in City’s quest to retain their Premier League title.

Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden also scored before a Chris Mepham own goal helped close the gap on Arsenal to two points following their 1-0 win over Leicester, while Jefferson Lerma scored a consolation goal.

But Rashford’s form after the World Cup is better than that of the Norwegian

The result was a vast improvement on their previous two matches, 1-1 draws against Nottingham Forest and RB Leipzig.

Pep Guardiola’s side are still waiting for another match against Arsenal, with the title race on the brink.

It remains to be seen how many goals Haaland ends the season with, but there is no doubt that his efforts will be key in his quest for success.
