Manchester United are reportedly “knocking on Napoli’s doors” to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as the Reds look to recruit a new striker in the summer transfer window, but face competition for their signing from both Chelsea as Atlético de Madrid.
According to Il Mattino, United are interested in the 24-year-old, who has registered 20 goals and four assists in 24 appearances in all competitions so far this season. He adds that Premier League rivals Chelsea and La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are also interested in the prolific frontman, who it is claimed wants to “get off the carousel” and establish himself. somewhere after moving clubs four times in six years.
It is believed that any club looking to sign Osimhen will have to pay more than the €140m asking price. The player has a contract with Napoli until 2025, which means that the Italian team is under no pressure to sell his talisman. Since he joined the club in 2020, he has scored 48 goals in 86 games.
