Manchester United loan star Amad Diallo shines once again for Sunderland with a stunning goal against Coventry

Amad Diallo has continued his fine run on loan at Sunderland from Manchester United with a magnificent goal against Coventry.

The 20-year-old agreed to a one-season contract with the Black Cats in the summer following a difficult season at Rangers last season.

He opted to move on to the Championship for more minutes with the first team and it seems justified as he has a real impact.

Diallo has been one of Sunderland’s star players in the campaign to date and impressed them again on their trip to Coventry.

Later in the West Midlands, the right winger made a great effort into the top left corner from inside the box.

Despite the quality of the strike, it was a case of too little, too late, as Sunderland were beaten 2-1 on the road.

Diallo’s goal now brings his tally to eight for the season in 27 championship games.

He has been one of the best Premier League all-star players to go on loan in the second tier this season.

Sunderland last played in the top flight in 2017 and are looking to end that absence in the coming months.

If Diallo continues to perform for promotion hopefuls, it could give Erik ten Hag something to think about in the preseason.

The youngster has already featured nine times for United, including appearances in the Premier League and Champions League.

While Ten Hag will surely keep an eye on Diallo’s form, his main focus now is towards this weekend’s Carabao Cup final.
