The photos show the scale of progress in a Porsche showroom. The new dealership was built on a site near Melton Road and north of Wheatcroft Island, in Edwalton.
It was previously reported that the showroom would replace the dealership near Riverside Retail Park, on the A453 Queens Drive. Up to 40 staff members are expected to move into the new showroom, with up to 10 new roles created after the company ‘outgrew’ its previous location.

Derby’s construction business, Davlyn, was involved in the work on the site. It has been built on land where the Waitrose supermarket chain decided not to proceed with an offer to open a new store.
A document within the planning application stated: “The Porsche dealer will be a gateway to the area and will be the source of a positive multiplier effect for other prestigious and leading brands and companies that will want to enjoy the associative benefits of the location in the area once the Porsche dealership is established”.
The area has undergone significant development in recent years. Land to the east and west of Melton Road was allocated in the Rushcliffe Council’s local plan for around 1500 homes, as well as a community center and other community facilities.
Hundreds of new homes have been built by independent developers. An Aldi supermarket, McDonald’s and Costa Coffee drive-through have also opened in a new retail park nearby next to Wheatcroft Island, on land between the A52 and Landmere Lane.
