Tottenham and Chelsea go head-to-head for the second time this season and the sixth time since the start of last season as the two rivals meet once again. It’s a game that has been extremely one-sided in recent years, but the Spurs may never have had a better opportunity to prove a point.

They start the game with an 11-point advantage after having played one more game but they are more interested in the proximity of Newcastle and the state of form of Liverpool, which threatens again. Chelsea, however, have little to play for here except pride.

Graham Potter’s spell in charge has been a difficult one so far with calls for him to be sacked getting louder week by week and the loss to Tottenham – something they haven’t suffered in the league since 2018 – could be a step too far for the fans. With an old foe in Leeds on the horizon and defining Champions League ties too, this is a vital game yet.

For Antonio Conte it is a chance to surpass his old team, although the Italian will not be sidelined during the game as he recovers from gallbladder surgery. However, his assistant Cristian Stellini has a fantastic record, winning all six games he has been in charge of in Conte’s absence since the Inter Milan days.
