Local bragging rights will be on the line when Sheffield Wednesday take on South Yorkshire neighbors Barnsley this week. The Owls sit at the top of the pile in League One after an excellent 23 match unbeaten run.
But the Reds, led by Michael Duff, look in good shape to secure a top-six finish. They are currently fourth in the table and have turned Oakwell into a fortress. Since January 2, Barnsley have not lost to their own supporters.
Yesterday’s 1-0 win at Wycombe Wanderers saw the Reds tighten their grip on fourth place. Barnsley has gone 11 games without losing in the third division of English football.
