Have you ever imagined trying to balance on a high platform while a muscular gym bunny in a leotard pummels you with a giant cotton swab? The legendary 1990s TV show Gladiators returns and the BBC, which will broadcast the revamped show, needs contestants to take on a new generation of Gladiators.

The show, which was a Saturday night favorite from 1992 to 2000, featured a team of regulars, known as the Gladiators, who would take on a new set of ‘contenders’ each week. Throughout a series of challenges, the contenders would battle to defeat the show’s Gladiators, as a violent version of Eggheads.

The new series of the show will have 11 episodes, to be filmed later this year at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena. There are rumors that Diane Youdale, who was Jet in the original, might be involved as an expert.
