Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a La Liga midfielder who is only in his debut season at his current club, but is already being tipped as their potential record sale.
Gabri Veiga has enjoyed a rapid rise this winter with Celta Vigo. He was only promoted to his first team in the summer, but he has dazzled ever since. In fact, he has six goals in 21 La Liga appearances so far this season.
Therefore, the Spanish media now predict a great future for the 20-year-old. According AS, is being monitored by Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle. The latter reportedly went to see him at a recent match against Atlético Madrid.
It is claimed that Celta will already have trouble maintaining control of Veiga in the summer. That said, there is already an expectation that it could become the most expensive sale in his history.
Currently, that record is held by Brais Méndez, who went to Real Sociedad for 14 million euros last summer. According to the report, Veiga’s asking price could be around 30 million euros (26.5 million British pounds).
Consequently, Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle will be watching Veiga’s performances for the remainder of the season to determine whether or not he is worth such a sum.

Most of Veiga’s appearances this season have been as an attacking midfielder, but he can also feature as a central midfielder.
If he was going to rise to the level of a club like Man Utd, Arsenal or Newcastle, he would probably have to be patient. Regular starts would be harder to come by initially.
Gabri Veiga must be patient before moving to Premier League
Therefore, perhaps the best thing for Veiga is to wait for his moment and continue enjoying his football in Vigo. He has plenty of time to target a higher-caliber club, so he’d better make a move when he’s ready to make an impact there.
But Veiga begins to show his potential in Spain. In turn, the big clubs will be keen to make sure they don’t miss out on some great talent.
Member of the Spanish under-21 team and standing out as one of the most “fashionable” players in LaLiga, in AS‘ words, Veiga is making good progress with his development.
You’ll need to make any decisions about your future carefully, lest you put that progress at risk of stalling. But it must be an honor to see his name linked with three of the Premier League’s top clubs vying for Champions League qualification so early in his senior career.
Celta, who currently sit 14th in the La Liga table after 22 games and are led by former Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal, have Veiga under contract until 2026. They will hope to enjoy his services for a while longer while maximizing its value in the event of a future sale.
